The Bowles Metropolitan District was formed in 1987 to provide infrastructure improvements and services to the newly-developed Grant Ranch community. The District is governed by a five-member Board of Directors elected by registered voters in the District. Board members are elected for four-year terms of office, with two or three Directors' terms expiring every two years. To qualify as a BMD Director, a person must own property or reside in within District boundaries for not less than 30 days and be registered to vote in Jefferson County, the City of Lakewood, or the City and County of Denver.
